Editorial policy
Brilliant Arts Journal aims to make arts writing thoughtful, clear and honest about what is known, what is interpretation and what remains open to question.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual details with care and distinguish them from our readings of a work. Where a point is uncertain or a correction changes the meaning, we aim to say so plainly. Interpretations are offered as ways into a work, not as the only acceptable answer.
Independence and corrections
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not to secure favourable coverage. Readers may report an error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, amend substantiated errors and make significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.
Partnerships and paid material
Partner contributions and paid placements are labelled clearly so readers can tell them apart from independent editorial work. A partnership does not buy an editorial verdict, and we do not present promotional claims as independently established facts.
Images and illustration
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. We identify AI-generated illustrations where they appear and do not present them as documentary images of real events or people.
Curiosity is a way of looking
Art does not need a hidden code to reward attention. We make room for close looking, open questions and the occasional idea that does not quite work.
