Write for us
Brilliant Arts Journal welcomes pitches that help readers notice how creative work takes shape. We value clear thinking, a distinct point of view and respect for the complexity of a work.
What we welcome
Pitch an original essay, close reading, comparison, creative exercise or well-grounded account of an artistic form, material or choice. Ideas may cross disciplines, but should have a clear focus and give readers something concrete to consider or try.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the working idea, the reader it serves and the specific angle that makes it worth exploring. Include a brief note on the approach and any sources or permissions the piece would require. Keep claims proportionate; a good arts pitch can ask an open question rather than promise a final answer.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please pitch the idea before sending a complete manuscript. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time, and unsolicited material should be original and available for consideration.
Curiosity is a way of looking
Art does not need a hidden code to reward attention. We make room for close looking, open questions and the occasional idea that does not quite work.
